“THE
WEATHER . By Mr Frank”
Teacher: 20 minutes ago the day was really sunny. Now it seems
like it is going to rain! Do you think it will?
Student: Yes, I think it will rain.
Teacher: If it rains, we won't be able to go on the Ferries Wheel! Will we?
Student: No we won't be able sir.
Teacher: Does it happen very often around here?
Student: Yes it happens very often around here.
Teacher: Is it because of the seasons in here?
Student: We don't have seasons.
Teacher: How come? Then how is the weather like here in Bogota?
Student: It's warm, windy and cloudy most of the times.
Teacher: I see. But yesterday it was really oppressive.
Student: The weather here is unpredictable.
Teacher: I can tell.

Judas Priest is an English heavy metal band from England, formed
in 1969. They have gone through several drummers over the years, though Scott
Travis has held the position since 1989. They have been cited as an influence
on many heavy metal bands, which has earned them the nickname "Metal
Gods" from one of their songs. Together with Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden,
they are referred to as pioneers of the genre. They have sold over 35 million
albums. Judas Priest was one of the first bands to renovate the twin-guitar
sound, with their guitarists. Many people consider that, among the foundations
for what would define "pure" heavy metal,
were three early Judas

Have
you ever wondered if someone is being straight forward with you? By closely
observing body language, gestures, and eye movement we can tell if they are
or not. Here are some techniques applied by police, business people, and many
others to determine if people are truthful. 1. Look for discrepancies in the
plot. Do they keep eye contact? 2. Do they look relaxed and comfortable? Are
they making unusual gestures or scratching some part of the body? Are they
touching their chin or rubbing their nose? 3. Check for eye movement, when
they are facing you at any point if the eyes look up and to the left, they
are thinking of something unreal or an event that has not occurred, hence
they are lying. 4. If you want to be certain of this ask more direct questions
on the events trough the end, if they keep looking up and to the left it definitely
is a lie. 5. Timing in their response is also a factor. If it takes some time
for them to answer it is probably a lie or they do not remember clearly. 6.
Check for mixes between emotions and what they say: for example if you give
someone a gift and they smile and a couple of seconds later they say “I
love it” or vice versa, it is not true. 7. Expressions are limited to
mouth movements when someone is faking emotions (like happy, surprised, sad,
awe,) instead of the whole face. For example; when someone smiles naturally
their whole face is involved: jaw/cheek movement, eyes and forehead push down,
etc. 8. A guilty person gets defensive. An innocent person will often go on
the offensive. 9. A liar is uncomfortable facing his questioner/accuser and
may turn his head or body away. 10. A liar might unconsciously place objects
(book, coffee cup, etc.) between themselves and you. 11. A person telling
a lie doesn't use contractions. 12. The guilty person may speak more than
natural, adding unnecessary details to convince you... they are not comfortable
with silence or pauses in the conversation. 13. If you believe someone is
lying, then change subject of a conversation quickly, a liar follows along
willingly and becomes more relaxed. The guilty wants the subject changed;
an innocent person may be confused by the sudden change in topics and will
want to back to the previous subject. Obviously, just because someone exhibits
one or more of these signs does not make them a liar. The above behaviors
should be compared to a person's base (normal) behavior whenever possible.
Most lie detecting experts agree that other means of testing are to be used
to ascertain the truth.

subject of such a subliminal message, the band's singer Rob pointed out that
"Do it!" had no direct message. Their last production, Nostradamus,
is a conceptual album focused on the 16th century prophet. Musically, the
album contains symphonic orchestrations, including the use of keyboards and
choirs, which is unlike anything the band has previously attempted. LONG LIFE

the last aspect mentioned, in 1991 PETA launched a campaign called “rather go
naked than wear fur”. We know that animals are tapped, drowned, beaten, or
electrocuted for their fur, their skins are taken when they are still alive (the
baby seals case in Canada is a very common example). With this idea thousands of
compassionate people have joined to help animals in need, just by being bared!
Some celebrities are taking part in those movements. Animals need people who can
pay attention by doing simple things like wearing synthetic clothes, report or
donate if possible. You can speak up for animals! Would you?
are capable of reasoning and correcting whatever actions or thoughts we carry
out wrong. Sometime we learn the hard way and it is not very pleasant when
someone tell you in not a good manner in front of other people or in some cases
we end up alone just because we are stubborn and are not able to know or
recognize our flaws and mistakes. Unfortunately when this happens we are old
people and nobody will listen to us even if we are apologizing. Let's reflect

best place to start is by asking someone who you trust and who will not lie to

as if you were the one affected by an action, this will give you a better

never mean that we are weak or that we being untruthful to ourselves. It simply
means that we are able to understand and comprehend. We want to make a change

We are always very prompt at criticizing others, but do we practice this on
ourselves? As human beings we like to be unique, different, differ from some
type of person or personality that we are not. In doing this and in common
practice we go astray from reality and sometimes we make mistakes and not even
notice them. People will always try to argue some illogical fact and fight for
their point of view, but when two or three different people tells them that they
are wrong, they think back and even then, knowing they are wrong, they will
still defend their point of view. By avoiding the truth they do not help
themselves, the parties involved, or the outcome of the situation. If we stay
the same, it will not be an acceptable way of behaving for friends, coworkers,

Unfortunately, human beings have not improved in terms of animal rights
protection. Nowadays our cultures approve activities such as bullfights and many
other kinds of cruelty. PETA (People for the ethical treatment of animals) is an
organization that takes care of animals all around the world. This society with
more than 2 million members and sponsors is taking action through education,
information, investigation, research, rescue, legislation and campaigns in order
to promote awareness on animal abuse and cruelty in four areas: factory farms
like McDonald's, laboratories and universities' experiments, the entertainment
industry like circuses and finally clothing trade. Keeping in mind

Monroe made her last significant public
appearance, singing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" at a birthday party for
President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden. The dress that she
wore to the event was sold at an auction in 1999 for USD $1.26 million. Rumors
have existed since the 1960s that Monroe had affairs with Robert Kennedy or John
Kennedy, or both. The final years of Monroe's life were marked by illness,
personal problems, and a reputation for being unreliable and difficult to work
with. The circumstances of her death, from an overdose of barbiturates, have
been subject of speculation. Though officials classified it as a "probable
suicide," the possibility of an accidental overdose, as well as the possibility
of homicide, have not been ruled out. In 1999, Monroe was ranked as the sixth
greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute.

the band's highlights, besides their music, is their extravagant sadomasochism-based

they've had problems with the law. In 1990, the band was involved in a civil

We know that this month most people around the world are going to be very
busy in front of their TV sets. Drinking beer, having BBQ's, discussing games
and plays, and even betting on games, these are some of the things that many
people will be doing this coming June and July. Allow me to give you a little
tour of previous World Cup events and let's see if you agree with me? In 2006
Italy won their fourth world crown in Germany, beating France on penalties
in Berlin. Italy's triumph would be remembered as a team effort with ten different
Azzurri players finding the net. It was also a special month for Germany,
the goals of Miroslav Klose helping secure third place in a tournament memorable
for the festival mood across the host country. In 2002 Brazil became champions
for the fifth time as top scorer Ronaldo exorcised the ghosts of 1998, scoring
both goals in the Final against Germany. This was Asia's first FIFA World
Cup and both host nations Korea and Korean Republic going as far as the last
four. A tournament of surprises, it opened with France losing to Senegal and
closed with Turkey third in the world.
In 1998 France hosted and it is also the home of tournament founder Jules
Rimet, France enjoyed an unforgettable summer as its footballers finally tasted
FIFA World Cup glory, Zinedine Zidane leading Les Bleus to victory over Brazil
in the Final. It was the first finals with an enlarged cast of 32 teams and
among the newcomers were a Croatia side who, fired by the goals of top scorer
Davor Suker, and confounded expectations by finishing third. In 1994 The United
States staged a hugely successful 15th FIFA World Cup that became the best
attended in history and ended with Brazil celebrating their first world title
since 1970. Forwards Romario and Bebeto were the Brazilians' star performers
while Roberto Baggio shone equally brightly for Italy despite his penalty
miss that concluded the first ever Final shoot-out. While Sweden finished
third, the undoubted surprise package was their fellow semi-finalists Bulgaria.
Who are you going to root for during this World Cup?
